Siraj — Privacy Policy

About this policy

Siraj is an app for prayer times, qibla, Quran, duas and dhikr. This policy explains the data needed to operate the app, keep it stable, and deliver Quran content.

Siraj does not create a user account, display advertising, sell data, or use data for cross-service advertising tracking.

Data kept on your device

App settings, selected city or coordinates, prayer-time calculation settings, bookmarks, local downloads, and Quran settings are kept on your device. Precise location is used for Siraj features only after iOS permission and is not sent by Siraj to its own server or to AppMetrica.

Siraj does not send Quran text, duas, in-app catalogue search queries, or bookmarks to AppMetrica. We do not create a profile based on religious activity.

City search and Apple Maps

When you search for a city manually, Siraj uses Apple MapKit to provide search suggestions. Apple processes the query to return results. Siraj does not send the search phrase to its analytics or store it on its server.

Apple’s processing is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.

Quran translations and audio

When you open a translation or play audio, Siraj requests content from siraj-api.ios-interview.ru. The request contains only the chapter identifier and, for a translation, the selected language.

To protect the service from excessive requests and to diagnose its operation, technical connection and request data are processed. The in-memory rate-limit key is kept for no more than 60 seconds. Technical Apache request logs are kept for up to 14 days and are used only for security, diagnostics, and service reliability.

Audio and translations are delivered with the stated Quran Foundation attribution. Its content-delivery infrastructure may process technical connection data needed to deliver content under its own terms and policies.

Technical analytics and crash reports

Siraj uses AppMetrica and AppMetrica Crashes, services provided by Yandex, to understand app stability and improve features. They may process limited feature-use events, app and operating-system version, device characteristics, country or approximate region determined technically from the connection, and performance or crash diagnostics.

In this version, precise location reporting to AppMetrica, IDFA, the AppMetricaAdSupport advertising module, automatic revenue tracking, and automatic app-open tracking from links are disabled. Statistics are not used for advertising, selling data, or cross-service tracking.

Siraj does not send AppMetrica your name, contact details, precise coordinates, search phrases, Quran text, or duas. Siraj does not set a userProfileID or link technical events to an account, because Siraj has no user accounts.

AppMetrica processes data under its own terms. Its documentation states that data may be stored on servers in the European Union and the Russian Federation. Additional minimisation measures for technical connection data are enabled for users in the EU.

Support

If you write to ed8009@yandex.ru, we receive the information you include in the email, such as your email address and message. We use it only to reply and resolve the request. Do not include information you do not want to share.

Support correspondence is deleted no later than 12 months after the last message, unless a longer period is required by law or needed for an unresolved request.

Your questions and rights

For questions about this policy, data in a support request, or a request to delete support correspondence, contact ed8009@yandex.ru. We will consider the request within a reasonable time. Siraj does not link AppMetrica statistics to a name or account, so Siraj may not have information needed to identify an individual analytics record.

Changes

If Siraj adds a new SDK, account, cloud sync, or a payment service with access to new data, this policy and App Store privacy details will be updated before the related version is released.
